Abstract

Introduction: Edentulous condition is considered as a social mental fiasco by greater part of individuals. Substitutions by counterfeit substitutes, for example, dentures are crucial. Numerous materials and procedures for manufacture have been utilized for development of dentures. Materials like Ivory, Wood and different metals like Gold were utilized to make teeth. Acrylic tar teeth are the most broadly utilized dental replacement teeth. Wear or weakening of intra-oral helpful material is an area of worry in clinical dentistry. Wear results any place relative movement and power are available. Tooth wear keeps on being a significant issue for patients with false teeth.

Aim: To assess surface hardness and wear resistance of three usually utilized economically accessible cross connected acrylic tar dental replacement teeth.

Results: It was observed that the comparison of three groups (Dentek, Pyrex Lactodent and Acryrock) with respect to Wear (Weight Loss) after 10,000 Cycles (in %) by one way ANOVA The sum of squares between three groups was 0.0343 with degree of freedom 2. The sum of squares within groups was 0.0846 with 57 degree of freedom. The mean sum of squares between groups and within groups was 0.02 and 0.02 respectively. The F- value and p value was 11.5592 and 0.0001 respectively. The p-value was highly significant. Standard Deviation of Dentek, Pyrex Lactodent, Acryrock was 0.0351,0.0225,0.0521 respectively. The standard error for Dentek, Pyrex Lactodent, Acryrock was 0.0078,0.0050, 0.0116 respectively.

Conclusion: Surface hardness and Hardness were determined for 3 brands of acrylic denture teeth Finally to conclude wear resistance of the three brands tested was in the following order 1) Acryrock, 2) Dentek and 3) Pyrex Lactodent. The surface hardness of three tried brands of dental replacement acrylic teeth was in following order 1) Acryrock, 2) Dentek and 3) Pyrex Lactodent.
