Two new coelozoic myxosporea Chloromyxum puntii sp. n. and Ch. ompokii sp. n. (Myxosporea : Chloromyxidae) have been described from the gallbladder of two fresahwater fish Puntius ticto and Ompok maculates respectively of rural, natural water bodies of Hooghly district of West Bengal. The feature diagnostic to the parasites are : Chloromyxum puntii sp. n. tetrasporic plasmodia, spherical spore, smooth shell valve, slightly bent suture, 12.13 µm in diame. equal, broadly pyriform polar capsule arranging side by side 4.39-2.76 pµm, Coelozoic; Chloromyxum ompoki sp.n. disporic plasmodia, ovoid spore depressed anteriorly, smooth shell valve, slightly bent suture, 14.81 x 12.73 µm in diame. equal broadly pyriform rarely ovoidal polar capsules converging to the depressed end 4. 18 x 3.40 pµm in diame., coelozoic.
