Sulfur is one of the macronutrients needed by plants in sufficient quantities. Shallot plants, need this element more than other cultivated plants. This research aims to understand the effect of the sulfur application of waste from gas mining on the growth and shallot plant yield of the lembah palu variety. The research was designed in the form of two experiments, namely in the greenhouse and the field. For experiments in greenhouses, the method of completely randomized design was used, while for the field experiments, the randomized block design was used with treatments including P1 = without standard fertilizers application and sulfur, P2 = standard fertilizers application (N, P, K, and manure) without sulfur application, P3 = standard fertilizers application with sulfur, and P4 = sulfur application without standard fertilizers. The results show that the fertilization treatment in the greenhouse experiment had a significant effect on plant height at the age of 30 dap and tuber fresh weight. Standard fertilizer application added with sulfur fertilizers tended to be better than other treatments. This treatment increases tuber fresh weight by 19.5% compared to an approach without fertilization. Fertilization treatment in the field experiment shows a significant effect on plant dry weight at harvest, tuber fresh weight, and tuber production per hectare. Standard fertilizer application added with sulfur fertilizers tended to be better than other treatments. This treatment was able to increase plant dry weight and tuber fresh weight respectively more than twofold.
