Abstract

Some new thiazolidinones have been synthesized and their structures were confirmed by spectroscopy. Some physicochemical properties such as refractive index, density, ultrasonic velocity and viscosity of these synthesized compounds have been determined in dimethyl formamide solutions at 298.15K. The results are interpreted in terms of molecular interactions in solution. It is observed that molecular interaction affects density and refractive index. The ultrasonic studies also confirm that in solution there is strong compound-solvent interactions i.e., the studied compounds have structure forming tendency in DMF solutions.
