An Empirical Analysis of China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Impact Perspectives: A Case Study in Tanzania, Africa

This chapter primarily focuses on both the positive and negative impact of China-Africa Economics and Trade ties on Tanzania. Realism, Dependency and Marxist theories of Imperialism have been applied in identifying the impact of bilateral trade. The chapter adopted descriptive research as the methodological approach with some elements of quantitative approaches to asses China-Tanzania economic and trade ties. The analysis of annual reports, previous research, journals, magazines, documentation and websites have been used to gather all the necessary data relating the trade ties and economics. Around 324 projects from eight sectors in China have been identified for developing this chapter. The total value of the project was around USD 745.61 million. Additionally, those projects were responsible for generating 57,183 jobs. The Fair Competition Commission (FCC) should continue to ensure fair competition in the economy is in place, sensitizing stakeholders, and researching issues related to fair competition. The role of the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) as the main controller of quality of goods and services should be enhanced to enable them to perform their role which needs to be evaluated to manage all the identified challenges.
